Galleries Coordinator
Salary: $15.50‐19.50

General Purpose:
The position will be managed by the Director and will work closely with the Director and the departmental staff to achieve the missions of the Mulberry Phosphate Museum, the Mulberry Cultural Center, the Gem Theater, and the City of Mulberry. The Galleries Coordinator will oversee the daily administration, logistics, and coordination of a wide array of projects established by the department.

Establishing Functions:
1. Coordinate the development and delivery of on‐site and off‐site department projects and exhibitions to ensure they remain on schedule, adhere to budget, and deliver on agreed educational and aesthetic goals
2. Coordinate with the Director in the installation, design, and building of exhibitions, both on‐site and off‐site
3. Coordinate and implement a collections care plan with the Director to ensure the safety and care of artifacts, both permanent and on‐loan
4. Coordinate the scheduling, communication, and payment of rentals and tours at the Mulberry Phosphate Museum and Mulberry Cultural Center
5. Liaise with staff and community partners to ensure smooth delivery of projects and exhibitions, ensuring that good communication is maintained
6. Assist with the appointments of the department. The Galleries Coordinator oversees the coordination and organization of the departmental calendar.
7. Oversees the successful function of the museum gift shop, including purchasing, inventory, budget management, and reporting
8. Work with the Director to develop and implement successful new media and print marketing strategies for marketing of facilities and exhibitions
9. Generate social media content (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) in line with the communications strategy and ensure project partners adhere to the strategy
10. Generate and coordinate any work orders to successfully maintain the professional appearance and safety of departmental facilities
11. Supporting income‐generating activity, including gallery sales and venue hire.
12. Implement and manage visitor, community partner, and collections databases for effective communication and organization
13. Assist in the organization, development, and implementation of special events
14. Assist with tours and programs as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of advertising design, including the elements required to build relations and events promotion.

Skills in public speaking, presentation, utilizing computer software and programs, social media, marketing, and promotion of municipal activities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Past Perfect software.
Ability to prepare and maintain required reports and records.
Ability to effectively communicate.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‐workers, other city employees, and the general public.

Licenses, Certificates, Special Requirements:
Must have a high school diploma or GED, preferred bachelor's degree but not required, and a valid
driver’s license.
