2025 Florida City Week, October 20 - 26
Celebrated each October, Florida City Week is a statewide tradition dedicated to showcasing the vital role cities play in shaping our communities. Throughout the week, municipalities across Florida open their doors to residents, offering opportunities to learn about local government, participate in civic life, and celebrate the unique character of each city.
The week highlights the importance of civic education, community engagement, collaboration, and volunteerism, reminding us that strong cities are built on active and informed citizens. Guided by the Florida League of Cities, municipalities are encouraged to host events and activities that inspire pride, foster connections, and shine a spotlight on what makes Florida’s cities thrive.
In 2025, the City of Mulberry is excited to roll out a series of activities designed to connect residents of all ages with their local government. From schools to City Hall, we’re creating opportunities for learning, engagement, and celebration. The following activities will occur during Florida City Week, October 20 - 26:
Commissioner Readings
Mulberry City Commissioners will visit Willow Oak and Purcell Elementary Schools to read with the students. These visits not only spark a love of reading but also build a meaningful connection between young learners and their local leaders.
High School Engagement
Mulberry High School Civics Academy students are invited to submit a short video on, "'Lights, Camera, Civic Action!' How city government keeps our community moving, growing, & thriving". This initiative encourages creativity and civic awareness among Mulberry’s next generation of leaders. The winning entry will be:
- Showcased at the October 21st City Commission meeting with a formal proclamation.
- Highlighted on the City’s social media platforms.
- Awarded a gift card.
