The Utilities Division consists of Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection, and Meter Reading. This division is responsible for the construction and maintenance of water lines, sewer lines (both Gravity and Force Mains), meter reading, meter replacement, and construction inspection. This division maintains miles of water and sewer lines and is staffed or on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergency repairs.

WATER TREATMENT PLANT
The City of Mulberry is home to approximately 4,400 residents, and draws its groundwater from the Floridan Aquifer. It provides potable drinking water to these residents and routinely monitors for contaminants in your drinking water, according to Federal and State laws, rules, and regulations. The groundwater is pumped to our water treatment facility for a three step treatment process. The water is aerated to release volatile contaminants, chlorinated for disinfection and finally orthophosphate is added for inhibiting corrosion and deposition in the distribution network. Aeration helps to remove tastes and odors, primarily hydrogen sulfide. Disinfection of drinking water is required to inactivate bacteria, viruses or other microorganisms which might be present. LAWN WATERING DAYS AND TIMES
- Lawn watering is limited to twice per week.
- Lawn watering days and times are as follows unless your city or county has a different schedule or stricter hours in effect
- Even addresses may water on Thursday and/or Sunday before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
- Odd addresses may water on Wednesday and/or Saturday before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
- Locations without a discernable address, such as rights-of-way and other common areas inside a subdivision, may water on Tuesday and/or Friday before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
- Handwatering and micro-irrigation of plants (other than lawns) can be done on any day and any time.
- Residents are asked to check their irrigation systems to ensure they are working properly. This means testing and repairing broken pipes and leaks, and damaged or tilted sprinkler heads.
- Residents should also check their irrigation timer to ensure the settings are correct and the rain sensor is working properly in accordance with state law.

PRIVATE WELL CLASS
The Private Well Class is a free online service, grant funded to educate homeowners and help them understand and care for their water well. Through ten weekly lessons and monthly webinar trainings, private well owners will learn the basics of managing and protecting their water source. Lessons begin January 1, 2013 but enrollment is ongoing. For additional information, visit privatewellclass.org.
