Mulberry Decides 2017!

February 14, 2017

Election season is here and now is the time for your voice to be heard.

“Two incumbent city commissioners have drawn opposition in the April 4 election, while Mayor George Hatch will slide into a fourth two-year term unopposed.

Two candidates are challenging incumbent Terry Evers, who qualified to seek a sixth term on the six-member board. Maria McClintock and Henry Kirkland each qualified to run against Evers, who holds Seat 4 representing the city’s northeast area.

Incumbent Andy Scrocca, who served on the commission from 1998 through 2001 before voters returned him to the board in 2009, drew opposition for the first time since returning. Kevin McAteer qualified to run against him for Seat 2, representing the Anglers Green and Paradise Lakes developments.

Commissioners currently are paid $278 a month and the mayor receives $430, but this week they voted 3-2 to double their salaries. Commissioners Evers, Scrocca and Jim Splaine supported the measure.” -Courtesy of The Ledger
