Welcome to the City of Mulberry Election Information Center. This information is intended to familiarize City Commission Candidates, campaign treasurers, and residents with the duties and responsibilities required under Florida’s Election Laws, and the City of Mulberry Charter. All requirements prescribed by State Statute, and included in this material, is subject to change by Florida Legislature.
Notice of Elections
Notice is hereby given that the City of Mulberry will hold a General Election on April 03, 2018, in the City of Mulberry, Florida to elect City Commissioners to Seat # 3 for a 2-year term, Seat #5 for a 2-year term, and the At Large (Seat #1) for a 2-yr term. Qualifying for candidates will begin at 12:00 noon on February 12, 2018 and end at 12:00 noon on February 16, 2018 at 12:00 noon. Candidates must submit qualifying papers at the City Clerk’s office, located at 104 S. Church Avenue Mulberry Florida. Candidates shall have been a resident of the City of Mulberry for a period of at least six months prior to nomination.
Persons may obtain blank petitions and other materials to be used in the qualifying procedure from the City Clerk’s office on or after, Monday, January 30, 2018.
There is a twenty dollar ($20.00) City qualifying fee and a thirty-four dollar and forty–five cents ($34.45) state election assessment fee due upon submittal of qualifying papers. These fees must be paid by check from the campaign account only and made payable to the City of Mulberry.

To become a candidate, you must be a registered voter in Polk County, a qualified elector in the City of Mulberry residing in the corporate limits of the City of Mulberry, a resident of the City of Mulberry continuously for six months immediately preceding the date of commencement of the term of office and hold no other public office.

Voters will elect one City Commissioner for the following seat(s):
Seat #3, Seat #5, and the At Large (Seat #1)

Monday, February 12, 2018 at 12:00 Noon EST- Candidate Qualifying Begins
Friday, February 16, 2018 at 12:00 Noon EST- Candidate Qualifying Ends
Registering to Vote
City residents who are not registered to vote, but would like to participate in the April 3rd City Elections, have until March 5th to submit their completed voter registration form to the Elections Office in Mulberry. Applications are available at Polk County Supervisor of Elections, Mulberry City Hall, post offices and libraries.
