Honorable Mayor George H. Hatch

Native Mulberrian, Mayor George Hatch graduated from Mulberry High School in 1968, and graduated USF in 1972- with a BA in math and education, and \ minor in voice.  He received a MA from Rollins College in 1978 in Administration & Supervision K-12. He worked at Mulberry High School from August 1972 to June 2008, with one year at Fort Meade Middle as an Assistant Principal.  He was in the classroom for 12 years, Assistant Principal for 12 years and Principal for 12 years.  He was elected as mayor of the great City of Mulberry in 2010 to present.

Vice Mayor/Commissioner Collins Smith

District 5

Commissioner Collins Smith was elected to Seat #5 in 2001 and has served the City Commission unopposed.  He has also served as the Vice Mayor since 2006. The Vice-Mayor presides in the Mayor’s absence. A Mulberry native, Collins Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education.  He retired from the Polk County School Board in 2003.  Collins “Coach” Smith is the Commission liaison to the Transportation Planning Organization (TPO), the Mulberry Kiwanis and several other Boards.  Collins and his wife Ellestine, have four children and ten grandchildren.

Commissioner Maria McClintock

District 4

Commissioner Maria McClintock grew up in Mulberry and graduated from Mulberry High School. Her Bachelor’s Degree is in Political Science from the University of South Florida. She currently works at Lakeland Highlands Middle School as an eighth grade Pre-Algebra teacher. She is also a member of Mulberry’s Creative Coalition and has been working alongside other residents to come up with innovative solutions for Mulberry. Maria and her husband John have been married 2 years, have two dogs, and as they are both educators, hundreds of children.

Commissioner Kevin McAteer

District 2

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Commissioner Kevin McAteer moved to Mulberry in 2011. He worked for the City of Warwick School Department of Transportation and served on the Executive Board of the Warwick Municipal employee Union.  Presently he is a 4th degree knight in the Knights of Columbus, Florida counsel 13907.  Has two sons, Kevin Jr., and Shawn; and raised his niece Melissa.  He has 9 grandchildren.

Commissioner Rick Stradtman

District 1

Commissioner Richard C. Stradtman (Rick) was born in Buffalo, New York in 1956.  He began serving his community by becoming a volunteer fire fighter, where he continued on for 5 years achieving the rank of Assistant Fire Chief.  Rick followed in his family’s footsteps as a 3rd generation renderer, and rendering is where he has spent the majority of his last 42 years.  In 2005, Rick moved to Mulberry, Florida where he and his partner have been steadily building Florida By Products, Inc. into the successful company it is today.  Rick joined the Kiwanis Club of Mulberry in April 2012 and was named Kiwanian of the year in 2013. He presently serves as Division 15 Kiwanis LT. Gov. 16/17.  Rick has been with his wife Terri for 36 years and are very proud of their two children; Jessica, age 34 and Tyler, age 32.
